Culture Galapagos Ecuador
Ecuador is a multiethnic and multicultural country. Its culture is a mixture of Spaniard ideologies and influences with the ancestral traditions of pre-Columbian people. Its population is spread into many different and diverse ethnic groups.
It is marked by the presence of Mestizos, Indians, Afro Ecuadorians, and Whites who reside in the 4 regions of the country: the Pacific Coast, the Sierra or Andes, the Amazon and the insular region, known as the Galapagos Islands.
Culturally, Ecuador is recognized for its indigenous people, like the Zapara & its world known “Panama Hats”. The country has two cities declared Cultural Heritage by UNESCO: Quito and Cuenca. Ecuador has plenty to offer to domestic and foreign tourists due to the various activities offered all around its territory.
